Aloma is a type family intended for display purposes. It is inspired on “Aloma” novel written by catalan writer Mercè Rodoreda, and published in Barcelona in 1938. The first ideas for the design were based on Deco magazine headlines and lettering. Also on the ideas behind Catalan Noucentisme movement.
Aloma has a Neoclassical flavour with classical Roman proportions, although some sort of inconsistency is applied in some letters.
It is intended for editorial design (magazines, catalogs), mainly for titling.
The shape of the typefaces, as well as their contrasting outlines, make them especially beautiful for headlines and short introductory texts.
